It was awesome to be a part of. I love the character Jane Eyre so much because she has been through a lot of sadness in her life but she still has hope and the courage to look forward. She doesn't let the painful experiences defeat her. I also like that she has no connections in the world but she makes a way for herself anyway. She has the strength to forgive her Aunt Reed of the abuse she suffered when she was young. She and Mr. Rochester have both been through a lot. He represents passion that is sometimes uncontrolled, and she represents morality and structure that sometimes stifles her passion. By the end of the story, she lightens up and he calms down. They complete each other and I love when they get to be together in the end. They finally find happiness. Aw.
The music was great. Jay Richards wrote it and I really liked it. He made it a little more joyful than the book which is perfect for a musical. It still has enough creepy, dark elements to be Jane Eyre, though, like the crazy wife in the attic and the house burning down. I try to learn something from every character I play and take it with me in life. This one has been no exception. It was a lot of work but a lot of fun! I am grateful for the opportunity. Here's what I am doing now:
Oh who am I kidding? I do this every day no matter how busy I am. When June takes a nap I soak away my problems. :) I could live in there maybe.

Oh Karlee, I love these pics so much! Now tell me again how I can get a copy of the show? I must see it. Lets skype!
Thanks Becky! I will have to mail you a copy of the DVD if you really want to see it. We definitely should Skype soon! I need to figure out how to make it work!
I would love to see it too! Maybe we'll have to get together for a movie night! I LOVE the older BBC(?) version of Jane Eyre! The new one isn't nearly as good. And obviously some changes were made in casting for your play/musical though, because you're much, MUCH too beautiful to be cast as her. But I'm sure you performed her character wonderfully. Wish I could have seen it live. You're amazing!
